The challenge

As a global leader, Ultra Electronics regularly exhibits at trade shows and conferences. Video has been the organisation’s visual format of choice. However, it was beginning to lack the flexibility Ultra Electronics needed. With videos typically being up to 12 minutes long, it was tricky to take customers through specific products without having to skip through footage/wait for the video to loop back round again. Ultra Electronics wanted a more dynamic solution that would enable them to pinpoint the right information at the touch of a button in a visual, immersive and innovative way. They also wanted to consolidate their product marketing into one, easy access solution.

Our response

Render proposed an immersive, touchscreen app that would give Ultra Electronics the capability to deliver a digital showcase of every facet of its offering in a way that could be tailored to the marketing activity and audience – from a large-scale conference to a one-to-one meeting. Ultimately, delivering Ultra Electronics a more accessible and flexible solution with the visual impact needed to both support and elevate the brand.


Working closely with the team at Ultra Electronics, we repurposed their existing 3D data models and utilised their existing imagery and video content throughout the branded app. This enabled Ultra Electronics to demonstrate how products worked in context – bringing the products to life for customers. Despite housing a significant number of videos and marketing material, the app was designed to ensure users were never more than three clicks away from the information they needed.

The results

The interactive app has been incredibly well received at Ultra Electronics. Since implementing it, they have been able to showcase Ultra Electronics’ four market segments in a much more tailored and consistent way, showcasing exactly how their products can be applied in context. There are also plans to scale the app across the business, digitally transforming more of Ultra Electronics’ data into one immersive application. Giving Ultra Electronics access to a wealth of resources at their fingertips today and in the future.
